Eu,... Não tenho a melhor das opiniões quanto à franquia "Meu Malvado Favorito." É que... Eu preciso estar em um humor MUITO, MUITO apropriado para as piadas funcionarem. Uma arma de lulas é interessante, e a apresentação de Vector é interessante... O resto da participação do personagem no primeiro filme é bem previsível e no nível das piadas usadas para encher um desenho animado.

Da mesma forma, no segundo filme temos o único personagem razoavelmente racional -A filha mais velha -sendo irracional, o que pode ser interessante... Mas, eles preferem xerocar TODA ESTÓRIA DE ADOLESCENTE APAIXONADA À PRIMEIRA VISTA DA HISTÓRIA DA HUMANIDADE. O que era para ser a parte principal do enredo é um vilão lendário que sem dúvida vai aparecer e cuja identidade esta na cara no instante que você vê o personagem, apontado pela diferença linguística, pela importância dada a o que deveria ser um coadjuvante, etc... De novo, pouco se salva. Eu lembro, por exemplo, que a namorada vendo o rosto de Gru em todo lugar funcionou no começo porque ele realmente tem uma cara tão notável, mas que a piada me pareceu continuar por tempo demais.

Eu não vi o filme dos minions. De fato, algo que eu gostei várias vezes foram as participações CURTAS dos minions. Eles tem grande potencial para ser mais desenho animado, neste mundo em que os roteiristas infelizmente não querem ser caricatos. O final do primeiro filme, por exemplo, poderia ter sido um bom desenho se fosse um pouco mais polido.
No segundo, pelo que me lembro, eles não foram particularmente bons. A impressão que eu tive foi de que os roteiristas disseram "eles gostaram dessas capsulas de kinder ovo pintadas de amarelo!? Quem diria... Bom, então agora temos que tratá-los como personagens principais..." Logo, tivemos participações longas demais e pouquíssimo engraçadas, de novo, que você veria como filler em desenhos animados entre as piadas melhores.

As ideias são claras... Na verdade, eu deveria dizer DOLOROSAMENTE ÓBVIAS, mas o resultado costuma ser na média ou pior... Nada terrivelmente interessante ou particularmente memorável, exceto raras exceções...

O Terceiro

Então, quando minha esposa me chamou para ver o terceiro filme, eu não estava exatamente otimista. Tendo visto o trailer, eu me sentia justificado. E, por isso, eis a primeira coisa a deixar clara: O TRAILER FOI FEITO COM A MENTALIDADE DOS FILMES ANTERIORES.

Eu não estou dizendo que o filme é ótimo, mas é melhor do que pode parecer pelo trailer. De forma simples: se você gostou dos outros dois filmes, veja. Este é melhor. Não muito melhor, mas com alguns momentos melhores.

O enredo em si não é particularmente bom. Um vilão que tem uma premissa mais ou menos -Ser obcecado pelos anos 80 -Mas, com bom desenvolvimento. Seu visual, sua arma musical e seu ajudante fazem sentido com a ideia, assim como outras coisas usadas ao longo do filme, A atitude dele, por outro lado, é... Boba.

Alguém obcecado por ter tido atenção se tornar um supervilão tem sua lógica, e até assistir a si mesmo em seus momentos de glória poderia fazer sentido: como autojustificação,... Como contemplação depressiva.., Como uma forma de se iludir, talvez... E eu não estou reclamando por essa ideia não ser explorada. De fato, eu não vejo como fazê-lo sem mudar drasticamente o papel do vilão. A parte dele ser um vilão divertido, impenitente é boa.

O problema é ele "lutar dançando" -Porque ninguém jamais dançou antes ou depois dos anos 80. É ele usar chiclete como arma -Porque ninguem jamais mascou chiclete antes ou depois dos anos 80. E, especialmente, é que as partes úteis de sua vilania não são características da paleta pela qual ele é supostamente obcecado. Quando o roteiristas precisam de uma forma de tirá-lo de uma sala, ele usa... Uma arma de gancho.

Quando ele começa a dançar enquanto invade o navio no começo, é bom -Seria ótimo, mas resolveram usar no trailer e todo mundo sabe metade das piadas da cena. Moonwalking na água é ótimo, ele dançando conforme a bolha de chiclete ataca os guardas do navio é bom. Ele parece estar se divertindo. Quando ele continua com isso, mesmo sozinho, mesmo sabendo estar sendo perseguido... Começa a parecer forçado... E não volta ao normal.

Se você já viu o trailer e não notou nada anos 80 naquela arma que ele aponta contra o Gru, é disso que estou falando. Ele é um vilão cuja caracterização, o que tornaria ele um bom personagem, é quase completamente opcional. Quando ele precisa de algo que não é "anos 80", subitamente sua obsessão por essa década some. Ele basicamente tem um cartão de visita inútil... Ele é um bandido molhado...

Os minions, por outro lado, foram bem utilizados... Eu sei, eu sei. Eu também fiquei surpreso. O início da participação deles é, infelizmente, bem padrão. Entretanto, depois de estabelecer a sua situação, eles tem uma cena engraçada que os leva a uma situação ainda mais engraçada. E, pasmem, eles não são empurrados na frente da câmera a cada cinco segundos. Uma ou duas piadas não foram maravilhosas, mas elas não duram muito. São cenas bem pensadas, depois do começo sem graça.

A grande invenção de Gru ter um irmão não é grande coisa. É mais um Gru, com personalidade um pouco diferente, mas participação tão boa quanto. Isto é, medíocre. O enredo, entretanto, tem em si uma ideia realmente boa: o final. Eu não vou dar spoilers, mas é uma forma de conseguir o que eles pareciam querer desde o segundo filme, mas simplesmente não estava lá...

E, aliás, créditos a la Pantera Cor de Rosa. Parece que Illumination finalmente aceitou que estava fazendo um desenho... E uma comédia...

Fora isso, o filme é, mais uma vez, um número de piadas que parecem ser para encher linguiça e com execução razoável, quando isso... Veja se você gostou dos outros, e, se não, ao menos não é tão ruim quanto os outros. É bem mais memorável, se nada mais.

The Other Two

I,...Don't have the best of opinions when it comes to the "Despicable Me" franchise. It's just that... I need to be in a REALLY REALLY right mood for the jokes to work. A squid weapon is interesting, and the presentation of Vector is interesting... The rest of the character's participation in the first movie is quite predictable and at the same level of jokes used as filler in a cartoon.

Likewise, in the second movie we have the only reasonably rational character -the oldest daughter -being irrational, which could be interesting... But, they preferred to xerox copy EVERY SINGLE STORY OF A TEENAGER FALLING IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY.  What was supposed to be the main part of the plot is a legendary villain that will, without a doubt, show up and whose identity is just there the second you see the character, pointed out by the linguistic difference, bby the importance given to what should be a secondary character, etc... Again, little is worth anything. I remember, for instance, that the girlfriend seeing Gru's face everywhere worked at first because he really has such a noticeable face, but the joke seemed to go on for too long.

I didn't see the minions' movie. In fact, something I liked various times were the SHORT parts by the minions. They have great potential to be more cartoony, in this world where script writers unfortunatelly don't want to be cartoony. The end of the first movie, for instance, could've been a good cartoon if it were more polished.

In the second, as far as I remember, they were not particularly good. the impression I had was that the writers said "They liked these kinder egg capsules painted yellow!? Who would've guessed... Well then, now we have to treat them as main characters..." So, we had parts that were too long and scarcely funny, again, that you'd see as filler in a cartoon between the better jokes.

The ideas are clear... Actually, I should say PAINFULLY OBVIOUS, but the result is usually average or worse... Nothing terribly interesting or particularly memorable, save for the rare exceptions...

The Third

So, when my wife asked me to go see the third movie, I wasn't extremely optimistic. Having seen the trailer, I felt justified. And, therefore, here's the first thing to make clear here: THE TRAILER WAS MADE WITH THE PREVIOUS MOVIES MENTALITY.

I'm not saying the movie is great, but it's better than what it might seem like from the trailer. To put it simply: if you liked the other two movies, watch it. This one is better. Not much better, but with a few better moments.

The plot in itself is not particularly good. A villain whose premise is more or less -being obsessed with the 80s -But, with good development. His visual, his musical weapon and his helper make sense with the idea, as well as other things used throughout the movie. His attitude, on the other hand, is... Silly.

Someone obsessed for having gotten attention becoming a super villain has its logic, and even watching himself in his glory days could make sense: as self justification... As depressive contemplation... As a form of self delusion, maybe... And I'm not complaining of this idea not being explored. In fact, I don't see how to do it without changing drastically the villain's role. Him being a fun, unrepentant villain is good.

The problem is him "dance fighting" -Because no one ever danced before or after the 80s. It's him using gum as a weapon -Because no one ever chewed gum before or after the 80s. and, specially, it's that the useful parts of his villany are not characteristic of the pallet which he's supposedly obsessed for. When the script writers need a way to get him out of a room, he uses... A hook gun.

When he starts dancing while invading the ship in the beginning, it's good -It would've been great, but they decided to use it on the trailer and everyone knows half the jokes in the scene. Moonwalking on the water is great, him dancing as the gum bubble attackks the guards on the ship is good. He seems to be having fun. when he keeps at it, even being alone, even knowing he is chased... It starts to seem forced... And it doesn't go back to normal.

If you saw the trailer and didn't notice any 80s on that gun he points at Gru, that's what I'm talking about. He is a villain whose characterization, which would make him a good character, is almost completely optional. When he needs something that isn't "80s", suddenly his obsession for the decade disappears. He basically has a useless calling card... He is a wet bandit...

The minions, on the other hand, were well used... I know, I know. I was surprised too. The beginning of their part is, unfortunately, quite standard. However, after establishing their situation, they have a funny scene that leads them to an even funnier situation. And, amazingly, they were not shoved in front of the camera every five seconds. One or two jokes weren't wonderful, but they don't last long. They are well thought out , after the unfunny start.

the big invention of Gru having a brother is no big deal. It's another Gru, with a personality that's a bit different, but his part is just as good. That is, mediocre. The plot, though, has a really good idea: the ending. I won't spoil it, but it's a way to get what they seemed to be wanting since the second movie, but simply wasn't there...

And, by the way, credits a la Pink Panther. It seems Illumination finally accepted they were making a cartoon... And a comedy...

Besides that, the movie is, yet again, a number of jokes that seem to be filler and with reasonable execution, when that good... Watch it if you liked the others, and, if not, at least it isn't as bad as the others. It's much more memorable, if nothing else.
